What is Asthma?
Asthma is an irritating breathing problem
from which a lot of patients suffer, for a long period of time in their lives.
What exactly is Asthma?
It is mostly a bronchus allergic disease which blocks the airways of the person
and causes life threatening symptoms. About 24 million Americans are victims of
Asthma.
Certain conditions may trigger the Asthma situation and it is known as “Asthma
triggers”. Such triggers are, a sudden change in weather, tobacco smoke,
allergens such as pollen, some medications and even continuous laughing or
crying. These Asthma triggers may differ from person-to-person.
If you are suffering from Asthma, you
should not take it lightly as it is a serious condition.
The symptoms of Asthma include wheezing, coughing which lasts more than a week,
shortness of breath, and chest pain.
Once you’re diagnosed with Asthma, follow the necessary instructions given by
your healthcare provider, always keep your medication with you, and make sure
to avoid Asthma triggers.
It is important to note that anyone can go through Asthma at any age. Once you
go through a proper Asthma treatment, you will be able to overcome its
difficulties. With proper medications and taking necessary precautions, you
will be able to stay active and symptom free, have normal (or near normal) lung
function, and reduce Asthma symptoms.
If you face a sudden Asthma attack, make sure to be calm without panicking, use
the quick-relief medicine as advised by the doctor, and get help from someone.
As long as the patient get all the required treatments, he/she can live a normal
life.
